Toothy grin | 10-month portraits at Philadelphia Museum of Art

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I met little M’s parents for their maternity session at this same location.  Now they have a smiley little boy who is on the move! We met up at the new sculpture garden dedicated to Anne d’Harnoncourt behind the Philly Art Musem, which features a bunch of interesting pieces of sculpture, but more importantly (for us), perfectly manicured and soft grass. It was perfect for this energetic little boy who has just figured out walking, but still prefers the speed of crawling.  M is going to be a little heart-breaker — he’s mastered flashing that great big grin and then looks around to see what else is interesting! I love having the opportunity to watch him grow up and I can’t wait for our family portrait session in the spring.

Boy in hats | Allentown newborn portraits

One of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer is that I get the chance to document people as they turn into parents.  It’s even more profound when the new parent is someone who I’ve known since we were just kids ourselves.  I was so thrilled to have the chance to photography little L, who is the new son of my friend Cassie from high school. He was the perfect model for a set of knit hats made by the lovely and talented Jenna Remmert who is building up inventory to open her own little Etsy shop. You’ll see more of her creations in future newborn and baby portraits. If you are interested in any of them, let me know and I can put you in contact with her.

Here are a few of my favorites from our newborn portrait session in Allentown. L is such a sweet little guy from head to toe, and he is lucky to have such an awesome mom.

Holiday Card Specials

I know it’s not even Halloween yet, but it’s not too early to start thinking about getting a family portrait taken for your holiday card. All sessions take place a location of your choosing—a local park, a nice downtown area or even your own back yard are all great options! A 45-minute session will allow plenty of time for a few family poses, plus individual portraits of each child. Feel free to bring along the family pet too! I will help you choose clothing to match your location and create a custom-designed holiday card.

Family portraits must take place before December 8 in order to ensure delivery in time for cards to be mailed by Christmas. Call or e-mail Natalie Nigito Photography today so that we can schedule your photo session during one of these beautiful fall days!

Family vine | Family portraits at Kutztown Winery

Speaking of including the family pet in your portraits— here is a family that did just that. I was very flattered when my friend Melissa asked me to take portraits of her family because Melissa in a pretty awesome photographer herself.  In fact, she was one of my wedding photographers last June:).  I met up with the Kelly clan at Pinnacle Ridge Winery in Kutztown. Melissa and her husband brought along their boxer Rian and Melissa’s sister brought her 6-month-old lab puppy Macy.  The weather was perfect and the winery was a perfect backdrop.  If the dogs weren’t so anxious to go on the walk they were promised, I could have kept the family there all day!

Here are a few of the best shots from the family portraits:

A middle-aged couple laughing in vineyard and adult sisters in purple shirts standing in front of logs
A family with two daughters and their spouses and dogs in front of a red barn
